Yes, that is a star in the branches.

to your notes on Gratitude.

Getting up, starting that day, this day, thinking about that — what more to be thank full for? What more, to be given to me — that richness of things — that does that, says that.
“Here, it’s for you.”
But I note, actually, that a lot of your writing is walking around this — it’s in the patterning of your speech, transcribed. Here are some thoughts on that. Speaking of patterning.
Gratitude, the word, ends here: c.1500, from M.L. gratitudo “thankfulness,” from L. gratus “thankful, pleasing”.
But it starts, etymologically, here, with the word: grace: c.1175, “God’s favor or help,” from O.Fr. grace “pleasing quality, favor, good will, thanks,” from L. gratia “pleasing quality, good will, gratitude,” from gratus “pleasing, agreeable,”.
But of course it really begins here: the pan indo european base, let’s say somewhere’s around 3500 BC – from PIE base *gwer- “to praise, welcome” (cf. Sanskrit. grnati “sings, praises, announces,” — and on the indoeuropean route — Lithuanian. gririu “to praise, celebrate,”, or the south, persian — Avestan gar– “to praise”).

When I was in Bhutan, I’d hiked up with Dawn and our guide, to this hidden structure tucked up into the hills, over Paro, I’m thinking. Maybe it was Thimphu — not sure. Below, in the valley, there was a massive string of prayer flags, that crossed the valley.
But it was kind of haunted, as a monastic site, for hermitage and meditation. Tandin Ney Monastery.
Dawn and Tsewang were somewhere, down on the site, and I was listening to the wind.
There was something being carried on it. Some song, but so out there and remote that you’d have to wonder how…it could be there? Honestly, given the spirit of the space, the wind, the emerging eveningfall, I thought it was a spirit, a ghost.
It was this old lady, singing. And I was thinking about that idea of singing as praise.
Here she is.
I heard this bird high up there in the Himalayas in the predawn dark that had the most incredibly beautiful and lengthy song — that I’d pondered, what else could that be?
But gratitude?
